Dynamic storytelling

I'm fortunate to have a housemate that shares a similar drive and passion for a creative endeavour, and over the past couple of weeks we've found a way to collaborate in our continuous strive for the best - further to the regular motivational chitter chatter.

So, while my friend practices her flamenco moves, I am close by with a pencil and sketchbook in hand to capture the dynamic poses and rapid gestures.

By watching closely and deconstructing these movements, it has heightened my awareness to the power of body language and gesture in dance and how it can evoke emotion with its audience. A whole story can be told in the simplest movement or pose. I can draw a comparison with visual storytelling, where precisely captured gestures or poses are used to the same effect.
