More Birthday Drawings!

It seems that most weeks there is a Birthday or celebratory event that I am preparing an illustration for...unfortunately I don't get time to do them all, however, this occasion was unmissable. In celebration of my mum's 50th birthday I created 2 x illustrations to accompany a Django Reinhardt album, a favourite artist of hers. I drew and coloured the guitars and combined them with some lovely photographs taken by Yeshen Venema. Originally I had placed flat textured images behind the guitars, however, after experimenting with the photographs, I found they attributed a wondeful depth and a story-like charm to the final composition.
