Magical Moviemakers

I've come to learn that many of the first filmakers were magicians. Much of early cinema was shown in the form of side shows and peep shows. It was viewed as a 'common' form of entertainment. As film developed and matured, these flickering Victorian novelties became recognised as an art form, and today the magic of cinema continues to maintain its grasp on audiences. Inspired by these early film magicians, I did a drawing to capture the spirit of Victorian cinema.
